My friends wanted to play poker with me but I refused, one their third attempt they persuaded me to play. As what I have learned from the experience was that poker is a game of timing, strategy and mental focus. As we were playing I realized how inexperienced I was in playing this game.

Luck doesn’t have anything to do with poker because I tried to use my luck in playing but the odds were against me that night. I wasn’t happy with the results that day so I have decided to try skills through online poker. I searched for a site that offers playing poker online for real money. I entered my credit card details and started to play. At first I was anxious that stakes are high and I will loose a lot if I don’t learn this game quickly. Luckily the site I joined in had tutorials for new poker players and for an extra charge I opted for those hints.

I learned quickly and was hooked on playing poker day in and day out. It became my favorite past time and also a part time thing where I get my extra cash. I easily became a poker shark in just 3 months of playing. All you need is a little bit of cash and a lot of skill.

My perception is, you’re not at all a complete gentleman if you don’t know how to play poker. You would see though that in movies like Maverick, and James Bond Movies that it is also equally important to know how to play poker as with learning other manly ways and other manly etiquette. In the old days, men are expected to carry a handkerchief, always open the door for a lady, pay dinner, know how to use a pistol and know how to defend himself through fencing.

And of course, there’s poker games. The sad part is because of technology, some boys growing up would like to play Guitar hero rather than learn fencing and pistol shooting is considered a violent act and not at all sways good with the parents of today. So at least there’s one that wouldn’t go out of style, poker games. Poker teaches you to be patient, to use your head, and have fun at the same time. Poker games like Texas holdem poker and Omaha Poker should be learned by getting into High Wins Poker as well.
