The March of the technology has never been more evident than when you watch accessories for motorists. Not content with ourselves to listen to the music of our choice and play at the touch of a button and a DVD to keep children from fighting in the back seat, companies have resorted to shipping itself something that should never leave again a factor stranded miles from home or their destination, and looking at the map lets you look at Egyptian hieroglyphics, easy to decipher. The development of GPS in car satellite navigation has led the driver with the world at your fingertips. It is one of those developments that have been suggested by science fiction – the car that tells you where to go, just point the wheel.
