Leaving for Web Hosting

As his team leader, it is my responsibility to know what his reasons are so we can record this attrition for future reference. This process is part of my company’s methodology. So my team member and I had a heart to heart talk about the whole thing. He said that he had no issues about his job and with his team mates or with management and leadership. It was purely a tough decision as he and his brother is venturing on a web hosting business. I got relieved hearing this, as at least I know that it was purely a personal decision and nothing that can be attributed to his job. Hearing that as well made me interested with the subject matter – web hosting, and let him continue discussing more about it. Knowing him as a very technical guy, it seemed very easy for him discussing their future website hosting business. He told me on a very high level the type of infrastructure that they will be setting up, the tools and technology they will need, the level and simplicity of programming needed, and the relatively cheap cost to operate and total investments versus the potential return on investments. It is as if he already gave me a web hosting guide during our conversation. It was indeed a great idea as I know from other friends who have the same business and they were telling me that there still is a huge market for this type of business. Our conversation was then swayed by some other topics such as digital SLR cameras and more techie stuff and finally ended with a thank you and Kudos to him for a job well done. It is interesting to know how young and motivated people like him have the heart and brave enough to venture and invest his time on what he thinks could better serve his purpose and abilities.
